Hello

My name is Madalyn Paquette. I have an undergraduate degree from the University of Central Florida in Environmental Studies and I am finishing my graduate degree in Sustainability Management with the University of Wisconsin. I work in formal education for the High Desert Education Service District in Central Oregon.

My Story

Living in Florida for 21 years, I hiked through swamps, ridden Space Mountain, learned how to flesh a gator skull am able to name all of the sand pine foliage by scientific name. Paddling among the mangroves is where I fell in love with the beauty of the natural world. However, I also witnessed its destruction while working in the Indian River Lagoon's polluted waters while building oyster reefs. This pushed me to earn a degree in Environmental Studies at UCF. I soon learned that humanities' problems lie beyond environmental degradation.... climate justice and economic turmoil are connected to the environment in peril. This led me to the PNW where I have been working in formal and outdoor informal education since 2022, helping foster a care for others and nature in the next generation. This certification is a mixture of my passion for sustainability and education.
